The area around you
The setting
Close to Solidor beach, in the heart of Saint-Servan, where the market is held on Tuesday and Friday mornings. All the local shops are nearby: a small supermarket, a hairdresser, delicatessens, banks and a range of other shops.

Getting around
- 300 m from the beach and the shops — the shopping street of Saint-Servan, with its market on Tuesday and Friday mornings
- 15 minutes on foot, or 5 minutes by bicycle, from the walled city (intra-muros)
- 5 minutes from the Grand Aquarium and the sailing and canoe-kayak club; 15 minutes from the seawater spa
- 50 m from the bus stop; railway station, doctors and hospital nearby, and a golf course

What to see and do
You can explore the walled city on foot or by bicycle, and the fine malouinières — the manor houses typical of Saint-Malo. By car or by boat you can cross to Dinard and its handsome seaside architecture, stop at Cancale, the small port famous for its oysters, and of course visit Mont Saint-Michel.

Coming in July, or coming in February
They are not the same holiday. Many people pick their dates at random, for want of knowing what changes.
Spring
The days lengthen and the equinox tides are among the strongest of the year — from the living room, this is the best moment of all. The terraces reopen and the town is still quiet.
Summer
The beach 300 m away, markets on Tuesday and Friday, the walled city fifteen minutes on foot. It is also the busiest season: book early, and a fortnight is preferred.
Autumn
The equinox tides return, the colours change over the Rance, and you can dine out again without booking. The storms are best watched from behind the window.
Winter
The cheapest season, and the quietest. The apartment has gas central heating and double glazing; the coastal path can be walked in winter too.
The big events of the year — the Route du Rhum, Étonnants Voyageurs, Quai des Bulles, La Route du Rock: Saint-Malo's major events.
